Our Story
In January 2007 Tarporley CE Primary School PTA held the first ever Beer Festival in Tarporley Community Centre. The weekend was a roaring success and quickly established itself as an annual event. Every Autumn, the Beer Festival committee (parents and friends of Tarporley CE Primary School) come together for 3 months of intense planning for the event, to try to get the right mix of ingredients to make the Beer Festival as successful as possible, while raising money for the local community.
Over the years the PTA Beer Festival has raised thousands of pounds for Tarporley CE Primary School PTA plus other charities within our community such as the Cottage Hospital, Scouts, Guiding Association, Done Room and more.
Last year we helped the school by providing a large donation to the building of “Treehouse”, home to our before and after school club, as well as purchasing iPads to ensure that there are enough for all our EAL (English as an additional language) students throughout the day, whilst also having one for every student during lessons. We also provided many workshops including anti-bullying, internet safety, dance, Lego and Shakespeare. We are also still fundraising to improve our daily mile track to ensure that it is accessible to all and increase its longevity.
The Beer Festival couldn't happen without the amazing support of our local businesses and residents. The success of this event is a brilliant example of how our community can work together to make a difference. Cheers Tarporley!
